Toyota Celica - Tomica 30th Anniversary Gift Set

Here are 4 models of the Toyota Celica from a Tomica 30th Anniversary Gift Set which I got in Hong Kong last May 2008. I found it inside a small and crowded toy store along the "Toy Street" of Wan Chai, Hong Kong.

From what you can see in the actual photo above, the box was not in MINT condition. Dust and dents on the box was due to shelf ware. The white plastic case inside the box was also yellowish in color but the seal of the box was intact. Nevertheless, I still bought it due to the very encouraging low price tag compared to the other stores around "Toy Street". It was a bargain!

Enjoy the photos! =)

Tomica Limited Vintage - Diorama

Here are more photos of my 1/64 scale TLV-14 Prince Clipper Truck and TLV-No9a Isuzu BU04 type Bus by Tomytec in a diorama setup. These photos will show the perfect 1/64 scale comparison of the bus and the medium sized truck.

TLV-14 Prince Clipper Truck

Here's another Prince Clipper Truck for my TLV collection. I got this from a fellow member of DCPH from our last swap meet.

A recap of the history of the Prince Clipper Truck:
Prince Motor Company which started as Tachikawa Aircraft Company, makers of the famous Japanese Zero fighter planes, produced the Clipper trucks from 1958 until it's merger with Nissan in 1966.

It's considered as a cab-over or COE (Cab Over Engine) type truck which has a flat face with the cab of the truck sitting on the engine and front axle. This truck chassis configuration is currently common among European and Japanese truck manufacturers, because the laws governing overall vehicle lengths are strict and the body style allows longer trailers or a longer cargo area for the same overall length.

TLV-N09 Isuzu BU04 type Bus

I can't find any writeup or actual photos of this Isuzu bus so I'll just try to describe this as I inspect it's highly detailed features.

Tomytec did a great job in producing this 1/64 scaled model inside and out. You can see how the quality of details were done in the perfect lines of the body. The headlights and tail lights were not just painted on the body but were made of colored plastic or acrylic parts and then glued on to the body. The interiors were not painted but you can view the detailed seats of the driver and passengers. Plastic side view mirrors were included in the box but I didn't install them yet.

I had this MOC(Mint on Card) HotWheels '69 Dodge Charger hidden in storage for around 3 yrs now. I got this from a trade abroad since this wasn't available locally. It's just a basic casting with regular rims but you can only avail this from a promo by Castrol and Auto Zone.

What did I get at our local swap meet?

The DCPH Swap Meet last Sunday started at around 10am. I woke up late and arrived at the event before 12nn. I can see lots of old and familiar faces of DCPH members present but there were also a lot of new faces too.

Tons of multi-scaled and branded diecast cars were going up for sale and trade. Cash, yes lots of cash were going around too. lol!

I only got a few items during my 2 hour stay at the meet but they were all worth it. Sad to say, I wasn't able to checkout all the items for sale, I had to leave early to watch a live UAAP Final 4 basketball game at the Araneta Coliseum.

Anyway, I still enjoyed my short swap meet and I still got great items. I'll be looking forward to the next meet on October. Oh, did I mention that my team, The Ateneo Blue Eagles, won their game and now they're on their way to the finals!

Here are some of my swap meet hauls.

Batman: Black & White

This DC Direct Batman: Black & White statue was designed by Alex Ross and sculpted by Karen Palinko. The design represents Ross' unique vision of the caped crusader painted in monochromatic tones. This limited edition statue reflects the mood of Batman in the Batman: Black and White Vol. 1 and 2 TBPs, a collection of short stories by award-winning talents.

The statue measures approximately 7.5" tall x 5.5" wide x 3" deep. It features a logo-shaped base, and is packaged in a black & white box.
